ART

Besides taking photographs of nature, I enjoy drawing with pencils, markers or on my Wacom Bamboo tablet, and painting. I don’t have as much time as I’d like to draw so my drawings are often goofy doodles for my kids’ enjoyment. The more impromptu and genuine, the more they like it.

In December 2013, I created a Christmas countdown on our white board and I changed the drawings every few days. Here are just a few of the drawings I made to entertain my kids.

I play around on my tablet to create characters for my children’s book ideas, like these two funny guys, who are looking for something really fun to do together.

When I have a little time, I use my watercolor pencils to draw some more elaborate, like this yellow seahorse painting.

I like to play around with my art in Photoshop, like this mosaic I created of my yellow seahorse swimming in the seaweeds.

I also have a lot of fun spotting funny shapes every day, especially in food. Grape vines are great creators of food art, like a reindeer, a giraffe, and a runaway man.
