This rock photography collection explores the textures, patterns, and quiet strength found in rock formations. From rugged cliffs to hidden caverns, every shot captures a different side of nature’s geology, weathered surfaces, layered stone, and shapes carved by time.
Some of my favorite rock photography comes from Mission Trails Regional Park in San Diego, where the cliffs and rock formations have a raw, sculpted character that changes completely depending on the light. I’m drawn to rocks the same way I’m drawn to flowers or trees, there’s always more detail up close than you’d expect, cracks, colors, and textures that took thousands of years to form.

Where are these rock photos taken?
These rock photos come from my walks in nature, whenever I encounter interesting sights. Rocks aren’t a frequent subject, but they get photographed whenever an interesting shape, color, or pattern catches my eye.
