I love photographing trees from every angle imaginable. Sometimes that means a wide shot from a hilltop, taking in an entire forest at once. Other times it’s close up at branch level, or even closer at the bark, admiring the patterns and textures that build up over years of growth. Every tree has something different to offer, its own shade of green, its own shape of canopy, its own height and width, even its own smell when you get close enough. Some bloom in ways you’d never expect from a tree at all. Places like the US National Arboretum are a reminder of just how much variety exists among trees alone.
