Since bottle brush trees love warm temperatures and plenty of sunlight, they are very popular in the San Diego area, as long as they stay hydrated. And when the bush bloom in the spring (and the fall), their dense and bright red flowers make for a beautiful sight all around town.
So I picked these bottle brush flowers as the April feature for my 2013 photo calendar. Let me know what you think.

Your bottlebrush photos are gorgeous! Why are the red bottlebrush trees not blooming now (September) and have not bloomed all summer. Aren’t they supposed to be okay in dry weather? There are many trees here in Carmel Valley, and they are all bare of blooms.
I know bottle brush trees bloom in the spring and sometimes more so maybe they’ll get to it a little later. I haven’t noticed any of them in bloom recently and I walk by those trees every day.
