Today I’m participating in the A Word A Week Challenge. This week’s theme is “zoom”. I thought I’d take this opportunity to feature a few animals I took photos of recently. I used the zoom for each snapshot since I wasn’t close enough.

I took the first photo at the San Diego Zoo a few weeks ago. These are two brother grizzly bears enjoying a sweet moment with one another. The white on the photo is some snow the zoo made for them that day.

One of the bears then smelled some popcorn someone was eating in front of the exhibit, so he came closer and started charming us with cute faces and poses, hoping we’d throw some of that delicious food to him. Poor guy…

During that visit at the San Diego Zoo, we decided to visit the new baby panda and her mom. Here’s mama panda bear, snacking on bamboo shoots.

And here’s six-month old baby panda waking up from her nap.

I took the next photo on a warm, sunny day. This little lizard was trying to get my attention by doing cute lizard push-ups. I wasn’t too impressed.

I took the last picture for this zoom challenge at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. This cheetah was laying down quietly, waiting for lunch to be served. When it heard the zookeeper behind the scenes, it started meowing, just like a cat (OK, a big cat). It was a great moment to witness, but today all I can share with you is the visual part. 🙂

Oh, these are wonderful. My zoo pics never turn out this good. Then again, I don’t take many of them. 😉
Thank you! I’ve taken lots of photos at the zoo and most of them are pretty bad. They’re often a fence of someone’s head in the way.
Or that dirty, fingerprint-smeared glass.
Oh yes, let’s not forget that! Or the animals hiding inside their exhibits everywhere you go. That’s the best!
Gorgeous animal pics, Milka. Well done. 🙂
Thank you! I think it’s all about luck and what you see the day you go.
Tremendous bear shots Milka – I love them!
Thank you! Have you ever painted a bear?
I have painted a few including 3 Moon bears that I did for Animals Asia who rescue them 🙂
Very nice!
