Today I’m participating in the WordPress weekly photo challenge and this week’s theme is “escape”. You can click on any photo below to see it in a larger format.
There are many ways to escape but I think my favorite is through books. Nowhere else can you visit faraway lands and people, real or imaginary, at any moment in time. My latest escape? The Guardians of Childhood book series by William Joyce. Wonderful adventures!

Living in San Diego, there are many places I can escape to. The first one I think of is the beach.

I can also escape to the mountains.

I can escape to a magical fairyland by going up these stone steps.

Or escape deep into the beautiful details of nature.

Oh, and now that I got myself some new Pirelli tires, I can escape really fast. Zoom zoom!

Wonderful places to escape to, Milka. That book looks really exciting. 🙂
Thank you very much! My son loved the series and I did too. We’re impatiently waiting for the next book to come out in the fall.
Books are the perfect escape. And i love those stone steps 🙂
Thank you, we’re avid book readers at our house. And I love those steps too. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to capture them on camera.
I love that fairytale land steps. It looks like if you took those, you would be transported into a magical world. And the dragonfly could be a fairy…right? great pics!
Oh, I bet there are dragonflies not far where I saw these steps since there was a large pond down the hill.
My 2 faves ~ the beach and the stone steps. Great shots.
Thank you, Nancy!
so many escapes within hours (my fav will always be the beach)
enjoy those new tires
Thank you very much! San Diego has a lot of places you can escape to, for sure.
Hi Milka,
I love your photography. The dragonfly was my favorite. 🙂
Thank you, Tracy! I love that dragonfly too.
Those are the best escapes – escaping into books and nature. Thank you for transporting me with your photos. I love those stone stairs and the dragonfly.
Books do give us an instant place of escape although I would say nature is an even more exciting place of escape when we are standing before it in its full glory. You are blessed to live so close to the beach and mountain areas. I hope to see San Diego one day.
