Today I’m participating in the A Word A Week Challenge. This week’s theme is “arch”. I encourage you to click on each photo to see a larger view. If you like what you see, please subscribe to this blog to receive updates of the new photos I post, usually 3 to 5 times a week.
I’ve been waiting for an appropriate photo challenge theme to feature the photos below, and I think arch is just perfect. I love the tall pink grass with its lovely seeds and how they swing gently in the breeze. They get so tall they arch down from the weight. They ‘re a challenge to photograph because the background isn’t always what I want, but I love their pink color and the many arches they create. This type of grass is technically called Pennisetum setaceum ‘Fireworks’ (Variegated Purple Fountain Grass).

A clever response! 🙂
Thank you, I thought so!
Lovely lovely post. I like that you’ve found arches that are alive, not carved by the hand of man.
I love that too. I thought it was a different take on the challenge that way.
Yes, beautiful. There’s nothing wrong with the stone-carved arch photos in this challenge – some of them are exquisite – but your take on the subject is truly original.
Yes, humans can create beautiful arches too!
Splendid arches. I would not have thought of it!!!
When I first saw the theme, I thought I had nothing, but as I was going through my recent photos, I realized they’d be a great fit. Natural creates some beautiful arches on its own.
A great place for these photos!
Thank you very much!
Those are great natural arches and for some reason they make me think of Dr. Seuss books – I have no idea why.
Haha, I’m not sure I’d be able to tell you why because I’m not a big fan, except for The Grinch and The places you’ll go.
These are beautiful arches! Well done!
Thank you very much! I love those tall grasses so I’m glad I found a photo theme to feature them.
Nature is the simplest yet most beautiful work of Art .
I agree! Nature knows perfection better than all of us humans.
