Today is Small Business Saturday 2013, the one day of the year to encourage people like you to skip the mall and online retailers, and make your purchases at your local mom and pop shop instead. Support small businesses and your local community and make a difference one day at a time.
Remember that my 2014 nature photography calendars (choose between five different themes) are available for sale. Use coupon code BLKFRIZAZZLE to save 60%, valid on November 30, 2013 until midnight. Today I’m participating in the WordPress weekly photo challenge and this week’s theme is “let there be light”. If you like what you see, feel free to subscribe and receive nature photography updates a few times a week.
Well, Thanksgiving is over and it’s now a straight line to Christmas. So how about some Christmas lights for this theme? Here are my favorite Christmas decorations from last year. Enjoy!

Lights can truly transform a place and turn it into magicland!
Many folks like to get their Christmas lights up on Thanksgiving break. It looks like your neighborhood is ready for the holidays. Very pretty!
Thanksgiving is so late this year, I put up my Christmas tree, outdoor Christmas lights, and indoor Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving day with my kids. It was a lot of fun and we really feel like the holidays will be here very soon.
Beautiful lights! We are going out to our favorite local small businesses after lunch today. 🙂
Thanks for shopping small today!
Fun! Getting in the spirit.
We don’t have snow in San Diego but we still know how to celebrate the holidays!
Fun shots Milka! Love the perspective of the shot taken from the tree!
Thank you very much! I love that photo too.
What colorful fun and festive images! Wonderful captures!
Thank you very much! I can’t wait to walk around the neighborhood to photograph more Christmas lights this year.
I love photos of Christmas trees and lights, Milka, and they’re so hard to take. These are great 🙂
They are very hard not to get blurry. I think I had a tripod for that.
