I spotted these beautiful spring wildflower blooms in Dos Picos Park, Ramona, California, Spring 2012. The weather wasn’t perfect (it was cloudy most of the day) but it gave the park an eerie light, which made for some very nice photos of wildflower blooms. Almost out of this world.

Winter brings yellow and pink sunrise to Southern California

A cold, cloudy February winter morning in San Diego, California, makes for a beautiful sunrise, with a mix of red, pink, yellow and grey clouds.

Leafless winter trees stand in the foreground, waiting for the sun rays to warm them up. I could wake to sunrises like this one every day.

Rain drops on a tree branch

After the rain, there’s a lot to see and admire outside. On that day, I found a few rain drops left on a tree branch, with a bright blue sky in the background. Perfect for a sunny yet wet photo theme.

Here are some photos of lilac trees in bloom at Dos Picos County Park, Ramona, California. I took these photos in the spring, on a cloudy day, which made for great lighting effects.

This photo below is my favorite. I have never seen grass with such a bright, light shade of green. It seemed so surreal, I knew I had to take a picture of it. I bet that grass turned dry and yellow a few weeks later, but natural green grass is such an uncommon sight in San Diego, this was a treat.

Ramona lilacs have smaller flowers than regular lilac trees and they don’t smell anything (the disappointing part) but they’re still very beautiful.

Full Moon – Perigee Super Moon

Update: This photo of a full moon is now featured in the month of October in my 2013 photo calendar, for sale on Zazzle.

I took this photo of a full moon on May 5, 2012. On that day, the moon was about 10% than a usual full moon. This phenomenon is called a Perigee Super Moon.

I was glad the sky was mostly cloud free so I could take a few good photos. I’m really happy with the way the photos I took turned out. The moon really is a beautiful place.
