Today I’m featuring close-ups of the morning dew on blades of grass. Here are a couple of shots I really like, as they show both tiny droplets and one much bigger one in the middle of them. You can click on each image for a larger view.
I love how well you can see the reflection of several blades of grass in that one big drop of water.
Macro Monday: The beauty of the morning dew on grass
I never noticed how fuzzy grass blades can be. The dew makes the fuzz stand up pretty clearly.

Yesterday morning I couldn’t help notice the beautiful morning dew as I was walking my kids to school. Unfortunately all I had at the time to capture it was my cell phone camera. Even though a couple of the photos looked pretty, I thought they didn’t do justice to what I was really seeing. So this morning I grabbed my good camera and looked around for some pretty displays of morning dew. I got many good shots and I decided to split them in a few posts, so they can each have the spotlight they deserve.

Morning dew on purple flowers
I love how tiny and numerous the morning dew droplets are, compared to the raindrops that are left after the rain. Sometimes they just seem to glitter with the morning sunlight.
Purple wildflowers with morning dew
I don’t know what type of flowers these small purple blooms are but the morning dew seem to turn them into a thing of beauty.
Morning dew in San Diego
With afternoon temperatures of 93 degrees yesterday and flowers blooming everywhere, spring is definitely here in San Diego.

Today I’m taking part in Macro Monday at Lisa’s Chaos. I decided to feature raindrops on leaves because we’ve have a lot of rain these past couple of weeks. They’re probably the last rainstorms we’ll get before late next fall, so I may as well embrace them.
Here are a few photos of raindrops on a rose tree with small leaves. I think I displayed one of these photos in a previous post, but I wanted to share a few more. Perfect for Macro Monday! Remember you can click on each photo to see it in a larger format.
This is probably my favorite photo. I love how the raindrops seem to line up on the edges of the leaves, with some larger drops to balance out the many tiny drops.
Macro Monday: Raindrops on leaves
I took this photo the same day. It shows some of the same leaves but from another angle and with some other leaves below them.

Below is the same rose tree but after a different rainstorm, and different leaves. I love how the raindrops reflect so many things.

Today I’m participating in the WordPress weekly photo challenge. This week’s theme is “lost in the details”. WordPress is asking photographers to capture details in their frames.
For this post, I’ll use some photos I’ve featured in other posts that show great detail. I’ll also use a few new photos I haven’t featured on this website yet.
If you like what you see, please don’t hesitate to subscribe to my photo blog and/or like my Facebook page. Remember you can click on any of the photos below to view them in a larger format.
Below is one of my newest favorite photos I took recently. It shows some leftover raindrops on new rose bush leaves. I love the various sizes of raindrops and how they catch the light.

San Diego’s Balboa Park recently featured a large display of ornamental pear blossoms. They looks beautiful as a whole, but I think they’re even prettier up close, when you can see the details of each flower. You can see more ornamental pear blossoms here.

The next photo also shows a lot of details, not just of the cactus flowers, but of the bee itself. I love its fuzzy back.
The last photo is a close-up of a spider web made by grass spiders. I love the details of the dew drops on the spider web, which would look quite messy otherwise. You can view more dew on spiderwebs here.

The new WordPress weekly photo challenge theme is forward. I’m always looking forward to the next best photo opportunity, so I can display it here and on my online store. I’m so behind on uploading new photos to my store, and I’m looking forward to working on it over the next week or so. There are lots of good photos to add, that’s for sure.

I’m always looking forward to exploring new hiking paths, and there are a lot of them in San Diego. Here’s one path in Mission Trails park I haven’t tried all the way yet.
WordPress weekly photo challenge: Forward the hiking path
Today, I’m looking forward to enjoying the cloudless blue sky, after three days of gray clouds, rain and hail.

I’m also looking forward to the raindrops helping my rose bush grow new rose buds for the spring.

Finally I’m looking forward to new strawberries this summer. That is, if I can get to them because the slugs and pill bugs do…

Lots of things to look forward to! What are you looking forward to on your end?
