I love photographing bees as they’re collecting nectar off the many flowers we have here in San Diego. These pink flowers were actually blooms on a large bush last summer. I think I will add the first photo as a potential choice for my animal theme 2014 photo calendar. I love that hue of pink!

Here’s another bee dunking its head into the center of the flower.

  1. A lot easier to capture than the dragonfly, right? I love bees too. They are so much nicer and more useful than wasps (which I abhor).

    • Yes, much easier because once they find flowers, they stick around to collect as much nectar as they can. The only challenge is to find a bee that sticks in the flowers long enough to snap a few photos. I can’t stand wasps either, they’re nasty.
